Description
UASB or EGSB reactors use gas/liquid/solid separators (GLS) and overflow the overflows at the top of the reactor to separate biogas and biomass, return sediment and biomass to the reactor bed.
Long-term operational experience has shown the following shortcomings:
- Block gas hoods with grease/oil
- Clogged overflow gaps
- Corrosion near the air interface
- Create an odor under the decomposer coating
A GLS separator module in a workshop
To avoid these problems, IB-MR created a type of GLS separator with a simple design and good hydraulic properties in order to achieve optimal preservation of granular and clotted sludge particles. GLS separators are produced in a workshop as modular units. Particular emphasis is placed on the choice of materials for the production of the GLS separator module to minimize maintenance problems and ensure long-term stable performance. IB-MR GLS separators are also used in rectangular tanks. They are suitable for new UASB power plants and reservoirs that are used as reactants in the UASB. As a result of, long experience with UASB, EGSB-Reactors, AAT prefers the design and implementation of UASB plants mainly due to superior operational stability.
